#3 - Visualisation, Mindfulness & The Mile High Club With Michael Inglis

This new episode is a sit down with Michael Inglis.

Michael is a sport, performance, and exercise psychologist and has been working in the mental health field since 1999. His own practice The Mind Room is a wellbeing and performance psychology practice that focuses on individual maximisation of potential as well as responding to clinical issues. He also has recently been appointed the role of sport psychologist at the North Melbourne Football Club in the AFL.

Diving right into the podcast, we had a great time talking to Michael about the sorts of techniques both athletes and everyday people alike can put in place to make their goals more achievable and realistic. Michael helped us to analyse some of our own thought processes and taught us how to apply mindfulness and visualisation practices to our own training. Hopefully listeners can take some of these strategies away and put them into place as well!

All aboard the Michael Inglis train peeps!

This podcast is supported by Atlanta Orchards. Atlanta Orchards are a family run company (Doc's family in fact) and provide quality apples to the state of Victoria, Australia. They would like to promote their new kanzi and greenstar apples. Greenstars, the first 100 per cent non-browning apples are a cross between a granny smith and a delbarestivale apple. The apples are green, sweet, juicy, have a thin skin and have the highest vitamin C content of any apple, which helps keep them naturally white for days after cutting. The kanzi is the number one apple sold in Europe and is bright red and crunchy, with a long shelf life — a cross between a gala and braeburn apple. So ask for Atlanta kanzi and greenstar apples in your local greengrocers Victoria wide.

#2 - World's Toughest Mudder, International Level Triathlete & Living A Healthy HIV Life With Deanna Blegg

Episode #2 features Deanna Blegg. Deanna is an inspirational woman who has truly done it all. Let me tell you a little about Deanna.

Deanna began her early sporting life as a triathlete. She was so successful in her field that she ended up representing Australia in the 1990 Commonwealth Games. Shortly after the Commonwealth Games Deanna began travelling the world. During this stint of travelling she spent time volunteering in Africa at which point she contracted the HIV virus.

Many years passed for Deanna as she came to grips with the diagnosis, being told multiple times she had X months to live. Deanna decided life was too short to dwell on an illness that she cannot control so set out to take her life back.

Fast forward 20 years and she is happily married with 2 children and has began a successful career as an obstacle/adventure racer. So successful has she been that Deanna finished 2nd in women's division of the Spartan Race World Championships. She also won, the female division of the World's Toughest Mudder. That's right. She won! At an age of over 40!

Deanna Blegg is truly an inspiration and someone who everybody out there can learn from.
